Just over a week ago, we reported that the Bajaj Chetak line-up will switch to new battery cells, which will give it a bump up in range. Now, we can say that the Premium and Urbane variants of the retro-looking e-scooter will become a little more affordable, and will be renamed.

    1. New battery cells provide more range while maintaining the same capacity
    2. Variant names will change in line with the 2901 model
    3. The approximate price reduction is in the Rs 8,000 ballpark

Bajaj Chetak variants updated pricing, new names

The updated Chetak Urbane is expected to be priced at Rs 1.15 lakh, while the Chetak Premium will likely command Rs 1.39 lakh. This marks a drop of Rs 8,000 for each variant. In line with the new naming strategy, the Chetak Premium will be renamed 3201 (since it was the first model to debut the 3.2kWh pack), with the Urbane becoming the 3202.

The Bajaj Chetak electric scooter has seen a meteoric rise in sales and is now firmly positioned as the third bestselling electric scooter in the country. With showroom numbers increasing, more affordable variants being introduced, and this upcoming pricing change, the Chetak is poised to give stiffer competition to the popular TVS iQube.
