The Union Bank of India is auctioning over 40 motorcycles it has in its possession after DSK Motowheels (Benelli’s former partner in India) ran into serious financial troubles. To be held on July 26, the list of bikes going under the hammer includes some that had been imported to India for test purposes.

The e-auction sale notice that has been put up on www.bankeauctions.com says that “the motorcycles are being sold on as is, where is, whatever there is and without recourse basis as such sale is without any kind of warranties and indemnities.”

Benelli’s minibike, the TNT 135 (reserve price Rs 1.05 lakh) that had been spotted testing a couple of times a few years ago, is also on this list. Another interesting model, which also happens to be the most expensive one on this list, is the Benelli TreK Amazonas 1130.

While the document does say “brand new sports bikes and scooters of Benelli and Hyosung”, it hasn’t mentioned just how many kilometres these bikes have run.

Benelli’s current partner in India – the Mahavir Group – is in the process of expanding its portfolio in India, with the latest offerings being the TRK 502 and TRK 502 X.
