BMW Motorrad India has announced that it will be launching two large-capacity bikes at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 – the R 1300 GSA and the updated S 1000 RR. While the GSA is a new model that's also the company’s flagship adventure bike, the S 1000 RR is the most focused supersport BMW retails, outside of the M 1000 models.

    1. R 1300 GSA is heavier than its predecessor, the 1250 GSA
    2. S 1000 RR gets bigger wings, updated aero for 2025
    3. Both will be available in multiple variants

BMW R 1300 GSA, S 1000 RR launch details, price expectations

The R 1300 GSA will replace the outgoing R 1250 GSA as the biggest ADV in the Bavarian marque’s line-up. Where the ‘standard’ R 1300 GS is 12 kilos lighter than the R 1250 GS, the 1300 GSA is actually a kilo heavier than the previous 1250 GSA. The 1300 will be loaded to the gills with electronic rider aids, including a whole host of radar-assisted ones as well as BMW’s ASA (Automated Shift Assistant), which eliminates a physical clutch lever. When the R 1300 GSA gets here, expect it to carry a premium over the 1250 GSA’s Rs 22.50 lakh price tag.

For 2025, the S 1000 RR sportbike also gets the redesigned fairing and winglets, but it remains mechanically unchanged. The other visual difference is the addition of wheel covers to the front wheel, which incorporate cooling ducts that direct air to the brake calipers. The current S 1000 RR is priced between Rs 20.75 lakh and Rs 25.25 lakh, and we expect the updated bike to be more expensive.

At BMW’s stall, the company will also showcase a diverse range of models from its line-up, including the M 1000 XR, R 1300 GS, F 900 GS, F 900 GSA, R 12 nineT, the G 310 trio, and the CE 02 and CE 04 electric scooters.
