Late last year, Honda took the wraps off two new India-centric electric scooters in the form of the Activa e: and the QC1. Now Honda has revealed that some of its dealers in major metro cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Delhi will start accepting pre-bookings for the two Honda e-scooters for a token amount of Rs 1,000.

    1. Activa e: has two removable battery packs, 102km claimed IDC range
    2. QC1 has a 1.5kWh fixed battery, 50kph top speed
    3. Both scooters have similar designs

Honda has taken its time to enter the EV game in India but now it has brought in two products to cater to different ends of the market. The Activa e: is basically an adapted CUV e: scooter that's sold in Europe. Powering it are a pair of 1.5kWh removable battery packs with a claimed IDC range of 102km but the catch here is that these can only be recharged at Honda’s battery swapping stations, for which the network is still in its nascent stage.

The QC1, on the other hand, is powered by a sole 1.5kWh battery pack which sends power to a hub-mounted motor making 1.8kW and it has a rather modest 50kph claimed top speed. Claimed IDC range stands at 80km and the QC1 has a 26 litre boot, in contrast to the non-existent one on the Activa e:.

Both scooters look rather similar and in fact even have the same colour palette, but the Activa e: has more premium fit and finish in comparison to the QC1. Prices for both should be out sometime this month with deliveries starting in February.
