UM Motorcycles has announced that it will be showcasing a new 230cc cruiser for the mass-market at the Auto Expo 2018. This bike will be the company’s most affordable offering in India and will sit below the Renegade Sport S, in UM's line-up. Another bike to be unveiled at the show will be an all-electric liquid-cooled motorcycle, similar to the Renegade Electric displayed at EICMA 2017.

We expect the new 230cc cruiser to use an air-cooled engine, making around 20hp. To keep costs low, the bike will share parts with UM’s other models. Braking will be taken care of by a disc brake up front and a drum, at the rear. Since the motorcycle will sit below the Renegade Sport S, it is expected to be priced below the Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom, India) mark.

The Renegade Electric that was displayed at EICMA 2017 was powered by a liquid-cooled electric motor. At that time UM had said that the electric bike has an output of a 600cc motorcycle. UM also says that it is the world’s first electric-geared liquid-cooled cruiser. This motorcycle will be more of a technology showcase – we do not expect a launch, anytime soon. UM will also display its existing range of motorcycles at Auto Expo 2018; these include the Renegade Commando Classic, Renegade Commando Mojave, Renegade Commando and Renegade Sports S.
