Ola S1, S1 Pro electric scooter purchase begins today

The new Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters are now finally on sale in India. They can be purchased via the Ola App only.

    • Advance payment is Rs 20,000

    • EMI options are available

    • Deliveries begin from October 2021 onwards

The company is prioritising customers based on the dates of reservation. Customers who had reserved their e-scooter, by paying Rs 499 when the e-scooter was announced, will be notified about their purchase window via email, SMS and the Ola app. They can make the purchase as soon as they receive a notification.

With a starting price of Rs 1 lakh, the Ola electric scooter undercuts Delhi prices of rivals like the TVS iQube (Rs 1.01 lakh), Bajaj Chetak (Rs 1.42 lakh) and the Ather 450 (starts at Rs 1.13 lakh).

The e-scooters were originally supposed to go on sale on September 8. However, a number of technical difficulties pushed the sale to September 15.

Ola Electric began accepting bookings for its electric scooters on July 15. The Ola S1 and S1 pro was launched a month later, on August 15. The purchase process includes selecting a colour and variant, opting for a loan or paying in advance, and getting a delivery date. Ola Electric has said the e-scooters will be delivered directly at the home of the customers starting October.

Ola Electric has also stated that it has developed a completely digital purchase method, including an online loan procedure without any paperwork.
