Honda has finally taken the wraps off the all-new, three-row BR-V after a few delays. The new BR-V goes on sale in Indonesia first, followed by other markets. The BR-V was first previewed as the Honda N7X concept earlier this year. We tell you more about Honda's new three-row vehicle.

2021 Honda BR-V: design and styling
As mentioned above, the new Honda BR-V sticks to its N7X concept looks. The design details are more or less the same as the concept which include an upright nose, a large greenhouse, long-ish wheelbase and a rounded rear. The BR-V gets slightly altered headlamp units with integrated daytime running lamps, a simpler front bumper design with conventional round fog lamps and a milder front chin with faux brush aluminum finish. On the sides, the wheel design seems to be simplified as well, with typical Honda-style five spoke units. Apart from this, the side skits see a mild re-design and those are all the changes that differentiate the production-spec SUV from the N7X concept.
2021 Honda BR-V: features and tech
Honda has confirmed that the BR-V will come with the same infotainment system as the one seen on the City. Additionally, higher variants will get Honda LaneWatch system that has blindspot detection, Honda SmartKey and also Honda Sensing that gets features like adaptive cruise control.
Honda N7X based SUV: engine and powertrain details
The new SUV from Honda comes equipped with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine. This is the same powerplant as in the Honda City and delivers 121hp and 145Nm. Gearbox choices include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
Honda N7X based SUV: competition check and India plans
In Indonesia, the new BR-V rivals the Toyota Avanza, Daihatsu Xenia and other three-row midsize SUVs/crossovers sold in Indonesia. As far as India goes, Honda pulled the plug on the slow-selling BR-V and the brand currently has no product in the 7-seat category in our market. While the new BR-V could be a good contender for India, there is no update from Honda on this vehicle. The company currently sells the City and the Amaze in India and is expected to launch a mild-hybrid version of the former in the near future.
