Audi Q8 Celebration: What’s different?
On the outside, the new Q8 variant gets 19-inch wheels instead of the 20- and 21-inch options available on the more expensive version. There are no other visual cues that mark the Q8 Celebration apart.
In terms of features, the Q8 Celebration misses out on adaptive air suspension, the Bang & Olufsen audio system and what Audi calls a ‘comfort key’ that has a gesture-based boot opening function.
Despite the Rs 33 lakh difference, the entry-level Q8 gets premium features like Matrix LED headlights with dynamic indicators, Audi’s latest dual-touchscreen control system, a 10.1-inch screen for infotainment and navigation and an 8.1-inch screen for the HVAC systems, the ‘Virtual Cockpit’ digital instrument cluster, a 10-speaker Audi sound system, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, assisted driving systems along with park assist, eight airbags, and more.
While this new variant gets the same 11 exterior colour and four interior theme options as the Q8 Technology, the Celebration trim does not get any customisation options. The extensive list of personalisation options on the Q8 Technology should still draw buyers who want exclusivity.
For those who want a Q8 with more oomph, the 600hp RS Q8 is also on sale for Rs 2.07 crore.
Audi Q8 engine and gearbox
There are no mechanical differences between the two Q8 variants. The 3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine, which comes bundled with 48V mild-hybrid tech, produces 340hp and 500Nm of torque. Power is sent to all-four wheels via an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and Audi’s Quattro system.
Audi Q8 price and rivals
With the addition of the new variant, the Audi Q8 range is now far more approachable. In fact, Q8 prices now come close to the BMW X6 (Rs 95 lakh), while undercutting rivals like the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe 4Matic+ (Rs 1.20 crore) and the Porsche Cayenne Coupe (Rs 1.32 crore).
