BMW's updated 3-series range was unveiled this May. It has been confirmed that the updated 3-series sedan will be heading to India soon. These spy pictures sent to us by our forum member Sujay Soman from Pune, shows that the German carmaker has started testing the new car in India.
The 3-series facelift gets minor cosmetic tweaks to make it look wider than the earlier car. It gets an all-new front bumper with a wider air dam. Select variants get the option of LED headlamps. Also seen is a restyled rear bumper and new LED tail-lamps.
Internationally, the 3-series facelift gets a new 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol motor making 134bhp. Also the four-cylinder engine line-up now comes in two states of tune. The diesel engine range's modified output options depend on the variant. However in India, we expect the updated 3-series to continue with the engines offered in the current car; that is a 2.0-litre diesel.
The updated 3-series will compete with the likes of the new Mercedes C-class, Volvo S60 diesel and Audi A4 which will also get a replacement next year.
