- The Go hatchback is priced between Rs 3.99 lakh and Rs 6.45 lakh
- The Go+ MPV is priced from Rs 4.20 lakh and goes up to Rs 6.90 lakh
- Both models get a BS6-compliant, 1.2-litre petrol engine with a 5-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox option.
The BS6-compliant Datsun Go and Go+ have just been launched. The Go hatchback price starts at Rs 3.99 lakh, and goes up to Rs 6.45 lakh. The Go+ MPV, on the other hand, starts at Rs 4.20 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 6.90 lakh for the top-spec trim.
The big change on both Go models is the engine, which is still the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine but it's been upgraded to meet the BS6 emission norms. The engine makes 68hp and 104Nm of torque with the 5-speed manual gearbox, and 77hp with the CVT automatic gearbox (these are the only cars in the segment to feature the latter).
In terms of features, the BS6 Go and Go+ share the same list as the BS4 versions. So the top-spec T(O) trims get the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electrically adjustable outside mirrors, rear washer/wiper, LED DRLs and 14-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Both cars also get Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), a unique feature in the segment. The interior and exterior design are also unchanged. Datsun charges a Rs 3,000 premium for metallic colours.
To offer customers with additional flexibility for payment, Datsun is offering a number of new financing schemes such as, the 'Buy Now and Pay in 2021' which allows the customer to purchase the car now and start paying EMIs next year; a 100 percent finance option; and Low EMI Benefit.
In terms of competitors, the Datsun Go competes with other hatchbacks like the Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago facelift, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Maruti Suzuki Celerio, while the Go+ MPV’s closest competitor is the 7-seat Renault Triber.
