Ford is readying the refreshed EcoSport for the Indian market which is expected to go in the coming months. The good news is that the Ecosport gets a more powerful diesel motor which bump up from 90bhp to 98.6bhp. This more powerful version of the 1.5 diesel is the same one that just made its debut in the diesel Figo Aspire.
Spy pictures have shown the Ecosport without the tailgate mounted spare wheel but Ford officials have confirmed that this is the export version for Europe where the trend towards run-flat tyres eliminates the need for a spare altogether.
However, for India customers demand a full-sized spare tyre and hence there is no plan to remove the tyre from the tail gate which in fact gives the Ecosport a distinct SUV stance.
The updated Ecosport will also come with slightly spruced interiors with greater use of chrome to give it a more upmarket feel.
