Ford Ranger: what is it?
The Ranger is a popular Ford product that's sold in many countries, and rivals other ladder frame-based lifestyle pickups like the Toyota Hilux, the Isuzu D-Max, the Chevrolet Colorado and the Volkswagen Amarok. It comes with multiple petrol and diesel engine options and also gets a Raptor performance variant that churns out a healthy 288hp from a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine, has an enhanced chassis, more off-road gear and looks more butch than the standard Ranger.
Ford Ranger: India launch details
The Ranger has never been on sale in India, however, it has a lot in common with the Ford Endeavour SUV that's set to make a comeback in India soon. If Ford decides to bring the Ranger here, it can be a formidable competitor to the Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu D-Max that are already on sale in India.
