Honda’s most important launch in a long time, the Elevate mid-size SUV, will finally go on sale on Monday, September 4, 2023. Bookings for the Elevate are in full swing, and some dealerships have already received display units. Test drives for the Elevate are expected to commence soon, though deliveries will commence by late September.

  1. Honda Elevate is available in four trims – SV, V, VX and ZX
  2. Elevate ZX gets ADAS, single-pane sunroof and six airbags
  3. Elevate V gets 8-inch touchscreen, LED headlamps

Honda Elevate: popular variants

A quick check with Honda dealers reveals that the top-spec Elevate ZX has been gathering the highest number of bookings, with the second most in-demand variant being the Elevate V.

The fully loaded Elevate ZX gets a single-pane sunroof, ADAS, six airbags, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with eight speakers, 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, brown leatherette upholstery with a soft-touch dashboard, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, and additional chrome bits on the outside. This top-spec variant also gets a unique Phoenix Orange exterior paint shade, along with a few, optional dual-tone exterior paint shades.

As mentioned above, the second from base Elevate V trim has also been gathering traction in terms of bookings, especially from customers who don’t want the expensive autonomous driving assistance systems (ADAS), a sunroof, or alloy wheels.

This variant comes with a decently long features list that includes LED projector headlamps, 16-inch steel rims with wheel caps, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, electrically operated and foldable wing mirrors with indicators, driver’s seat height adjust, keyless entry with push button start, steering-mounted audio and telephony controls, an automatic climate control system, dual USB sockets and one 12V socket for the front passengers, a front centre armrest, rear AC vents, and one 12V socket for the second row.

Honda Elevate powertrain, fuel efficiency

The Elevate made its global debut in India back in June, and last month, it was homologated for our market. It has the same powertrain as the City – a 121hp, 145Nm, 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or 7-step CVT automatic. As far as fuel efficiency goes, the manual Elevate returns a claimed 15.31kpl, while the CVT returns 16.92kpl. Expect the real-world figures to be slightly different.

Honda Elevate expected price, rivals

Test drives for the Elevate will commence soon, and dealer sources tell us that prices are expected to start from Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). The Elevate will rival the Hyundai Creta and the recently launched Kia Seltos facelift – both of which get more features along with a diesel engine option – the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Toyota Hyryder – which get petrol-hybrid powertrain options – and the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.
