Honda has taken the wraps off of a new car at the 2018 Indonesia International Motor Show. It's called the Small RS Concept – a small, sporty-looking hatchback that is most likely to be the next-generation Brio in concept car guise.

If you will remember, when Honda debuted the Brio concept, it was called the 'New Small Concept'. The only difference here is that this one – developed by Honda's Thailand arm – gets the RS moniker.

In motor show form, the Small RS Concept wears Phoenix Orange Pearl paint, a body kit, vents on the fenders, large all-black alloy wheels, a hood scoop, blacked-out trim elements and shares its front-end with the facelifted Mobilio. It even gets a faux diffuser and a big rear spoiler as part of the body kit. However, if you strip away the racy bits, you can see that this is the successor to the first-generation Brio, which has been around for a long time, now. Interestingly, the all-glass hatch of its predecessor has been ditched in favour of a conventional hatch, while the tail-lights look very similar to those on the Ford Figo

No details on the Small RS Concept have been shared as yet. The current-gen Brio RS – on sale in Indonesia – is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 89hp and 109Nm of torque, and can be had with a five-speed manual or a CVT.

It looks exciting, all right, but don't get your hopes up; the second-generation Brio is unlikely to make it to India.

Still, would you like to see Honda bring the sportier, second-gen Brio to India? Leave your thoughts in the comments section.
