Ahead of its official debut and launch on January 16, Hyundai has teased the exterior and interior of the upcoming Creta facelift, which are unique to India. It gets major cosmetic updates, a lot more tech and marks the return of the turbo-petrol engine.
The company has also opened bookings for the new Creta for a token amount of Rs 25,000, and those who have booked the outgoing model will have the option of converting their bookings to the new one.

Hyundai Creta facelift exterior updates
The exterior updates seem as comprehensive as is possible with facelifts. It gets an all-new face that looks more upright and boxy with a new grille, headlamp and bumper assembly. There’s a full-width LED light band that ends with inverted L-shaped elements at the edges, while the main LED headlamp cluster is now rectangular and vertically positioned on the bumper. The grille, too, is now rectangular with three horizontal slats, and, together with the lower portion of the bumper, looks a lot more blocky than before.
The rear gets a completely new tailgate, full-width LED tail-lamps that mimic the front-end design, a redesigned number plate housing and a chunkier bumper. But while these images do not give us a look at the side profile, we expect it to remain largely unchanged, save for a new set of alloy wheels.
Hyundai Creta facelift interior revealed
The updates on the inside are even more comprehensive. The dashboard gets an all-new design with twin 10.25-inch connected screens – likely the same unit from the Kia Seltos. The dashboard wraps rather elegantly around the screens and the AC vent on the passenger side is now incorporated within a gloss black horizontal band on the dashboard.
The centre console now gets redesigned central AC vents, a single band of physical buttons and what looks like a touch panel for the HVAC controls. However, it’s not the switchable panel with rotary physical dials as we've seen on the Verna. There are also new storage areas, and the biggest talking point when it comes to features will be the addition of an ADAS suite, 360-degree camera and dual-zone climate control, among others.
Hyundai Creta facelift engine options
Under the hood, the Creta facelift will continue with the 115hp, 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, with a manual gearbox as standard and CVT and torque converter gearboxes as options, respectively. The turbo-petrol makes a comeback in the form of the 160hp, 1.5-litre engine that replaces the now-discontinued 1.4-litre turbo-petrol, and will likely be offered with both manual and DCT gearboxes.
Hyundai will offer the Creta in seven trim levels (E, EX, S, S(O), SX, SX Tech, SX(O)); six mono-tone colour options (Robust Emerald Pearl (New), Fiery Red, Ranger Khaki, Abyss Black, Atlas White, Titan Grey); and one dual-tone colour option – Atlas White with Black Roof.
Upon launch, the new Creta will continue to rival the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate and Volkswagen Taigun in the midsize SUV segment.
