Hyundai Creta facelift exterior: what’s new

The 2024 Creta is no nip and tuck job; Hyundai has completely redone the front and rear styling. Up front, there’s a larger grille with parametric details (as Hyundai calls it) that’s complemented by a new lighting setup. The split headlamps comprise of LED Daytime Running Lamps, sequential indicators and a light bar atop the grille, with the main quad-LED headlamps positioned lowered down on the bumper. New scuff plates also do their bit to make the front end look less polarising than the pre-facelift.

This is true of the rear end styling as well: it's more angular at the back, gets full LED tail-lamps and a full width LED light bar, and a new rear bumper. In profile, there's nothing apart from the new alloy wheels that indicate that this is the 2024 model.

Hyundai has also gone the distance to give the Creta a new dashboard with this update. Taking pride of place is a 10.25-inch touchscreen (it gets a software update) that flows into the new 10.25-inch digital driver display from the Alcazar. The screen gets three themes and also displays footage from the blind-view monitor when the indicator is activated. The centre console lower down on the dash has also been redone with controls for the new dual-zone climate control system. Lighter colours and copper details are also other changes of note on the inside.

The rear section of the cabin is carried over largely unchanged with new USB Type-C charging points being the only new inclusion. There’s no change to boot volume either at 433 litres.

Hyundai Creta facelift features and safety: what’s new

When it comes to features, the Creta continues to wow. Comfort and convenience features include a powered driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, onboard air purifier, electronic parking brake, two-step adjustable rear seat backrest, pillows for the rear seat headrests and rear sunshades. The tech suite is just as impressive. The 10.25-inch digital display is crisp and easy to refer to, the touchscreen is slick (and supports 12 regional languages), the new 360-degree camera is a boon and the Bose sound system is impressive in its own right. Also part of the package is connected tech that brings with it multiple features such as a new Jio Saavn music streaming app. You can also remotely keep an eye on your car using the eSIM-based setup.

The new Creta also sees safety upgrades. Six airbags are standard across the board and higher-spec models also get radar and camera-based ADAS. The suite of 19 ADAS functions includes features such as auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane keep assist and more. Aside from the tech enhancements, Hyundai claims the body shell has been reinforced at critical points for enhanced crash protection. The 2024 Creta complies with India’s latest crash test norms and will be rated by Bharat NCAP in the coming months.

Hyundai Creta facelift engines: what’s new

The only major mechanical change on the Creta facelift is the new 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine – replacing the discontinued 140hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol unit – that only comes paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The 115hp, 1.5-litre petrol and 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel engines continue unchanged, with their respective manual and automatic gearbox options.

The top-spec petrol-automatic Creta is among the more expensive models here, while its diesel counterpart is priced nearly at par with the Kia Seltos diesel.
