Hyundai is extensively testing the facelift of its popular midsize SUV, the Creta. While the new, heavily camouflaged spy shots don’t divulge much, they hint at the Creta facelift getting similar styling cues – including an H-patterned design for the lights – as the newly launched Exter and the upcoming Santa Fe.

The second-gen Creta was launched in India in 2020 and subsequently received a facelift for international markets in 2021. However, that facelift, which had Tucson-like design cues, never made it to India and Hyundai is working on a fresh design that will take cues from the Palisade

Hyundai Creta facelift expected design, features

The Creta facelift will have a vertical headlamp cluster that will likely be a split unit and have Palisade-like daytime running lamps. Previous spy shots also suggest that the Creta facelift will have an all-new grille with square-like detailing, closely matching the Palisade.

The new spy shots show that the Creta facelift gets a multi-spoke design for the alloy wheels that is very similar to the one seen on the outgoing model. However, the test mules of the Creta facelift seen in India recently show that the midsize SUV will get a new design for the alloy wheels, similar to the ones shod on the Alcazar. At the back, expect the Creta to get a redesigned tail-gate and a new bumper, apart from the aforementioned tail-lights.

In terms of features, the Creta facelift is likely to come with 360-degree cameras as well as ADAS features. Its interiors are yet to be revealed, but a redesigned dashboard and a host of new features could very well be on the cards.

Hyundai Creta facelift powertrains

It is expected to have the same powertrain options as the recently introduced Kia Seltos facelift. Expect the Creta facelift to continue with the 115hp, 1.5-litre petrol and 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which made its debut in the Hyundai line-up with the Verna, is also expected to be offered.
