Hyundai i20 loses some equipment

Hyundai has made a few changes to the equipment list of the i20. The large hatchback now makes do without some of the features available on the car earlier.

As part of the changes, all trims of the i20 now get different seat upholstery and no longer get a ticket holder. Additionally, the base i20 Era misses out on a passenger vanity mirror. There are no other changes on the Magna trim.

The i20 Sportz trim misses out on the leather-wrapped steering and gearknob, boot lamp and driver window auto up function. In addition, the Sportz trim now comes with only one folding key instead of the earlier two.

The Sportz (O) trim now does away with the leather-wrapped steering and gearknob as well. This means that the i20 now only offers a leather-wrapped steering and gearknob on the top-spec Asta trim while its closest rival, the Honda Jazz, gets the feature on the top two V and VX trims.

The top-spec i20 Asta trim now only gets one 12V power outlet in place of the two outlets it offered earlier.

Mechanically, the car is still powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines as before. The prices, however, remained unchanged. Hyundai is in the process of readying a touchscreen-equipped i20 as well which is likley to launch soon.

The i20 Active does not get any of these changes.
