Hyundai has revealed the rugged Ioniq 5 XRT with unique styling at the front and back, a different set of alloy wheels, and a new tyre and suspension package. The model has also been lifted and tuned for mild off-roading.

  2. Gets unique front and rear styling with contrast elements
  3. Comes with an 84kWh battery pack

The international Ioniq 5 line-up now has three distinctive models, with the XRT joining the 'N' performance model and the standard Ioniq 5. The XRT gets a different suspension setup that lifts the car by 23mm compared to the standard model, and new 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres. Its front and rear bumpers get “digital camouflage” cladding with contrast dark shades, and there are also two functional, red-painted hooks up front.

Two unique exterior paint shades are on offer with the Ioniq 5 XRT. With the suspension lift and tune meant for rugged trails, Hyundai says the Ioniq 5 XRT’s approach and departure angles now stand at 19.8 and 30 degrees, respectively, which is 2.3 and 4.6 degrees better than the standard model. The XRT also features unique badging, black mirrors, slightly different seat upholstery, and a three-spoke steering wheel, instead of the two-spoke unit seen on the regular Ioniq 5.

The Ioniq 5 XRT comes with a 84kWh battery, which powers a motor on each axle, giving it AWD. Power outputs have not been released but it should hover around the 320hp mark, just like the standard dual motor version.

The Ioniq 5 facelift has been revealed overseas and should make its way in India sometime in the future. It remains to be seen if the rugged XRT comes to our shores.
