The Scorpio N has been a strong product from Mahindra stable for a few years now, and it is even sold internationally in Australia and South Africa. The brand is completing 20 years in South Africa and has just launched a special edition of the SUV, the Scorpio N Adventure, for that market. This special edition is based on the Z8 trim, and here’s what the 7-seat vehicle gets.
- Offered with raised suspension, steel bumpers
- Roof rack, tow bar offered as standard
Mahindra Scorpio Adventure: what’s different?
The Mahindra Scorpio N Adventure gets several upgrades that would aid the SUV in off-road conditions. The regular bumpers have been replaced with steel bumpers (front and rear); they not only improve the approach and departure angles but also have recovery points integrated into them. Additionally, there’s a metal skid plate and a belly plate to protect the parts from hard impacts during driving. The Scorpio N Adventure also comes fitted with a steel roof rack as standard. Mahindra claims that the suspension has also been elevated; while the standard Z8 variants ride on 255/60 R18 road tyres, this edition has 265/60 R18 all-terrain tyres. The tow bar is standard on this SUV; it is optional on other models of the Scorpio N in South Africa.

Mahindra Scorpio N Adventure: powertrain highlights
In South Africa, the Scorpio is only offered with the 2.2-litre diesel engine and 6-speed automatic transmission. The diesel mill produces a healthy 175hp and 400Nm of torque and is available with either 2WD or 4WD. The Scorpio N Adventure has 4WD as standard and a shift-on-the-fly 4WD system along with four traction modes: normal, snow, mud & rut, sand.
Mahindra Scorpio N Adventure: price
Priced at 6,44,499 South African Rands (Rs 29.5 lakh), the Scorpio N Adventure costs more than the higher spec Z8L, which is priced at 6,08,199 South African Rands (Rs 27.8 lakh), but it is important to note that it does get a raft of factory-fitted off-road upgrades.
