Mercedes Benz launched a new version of its E-Class range at New Delhi on Tuesday. The E Class Cabriolet is priced at Rs 64.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The E-Class Cabriolet joins as the seventh offering within the E-Class range sold in the Indian market which includes the E Class Saloon and Coupe variants. The E Class range starts with a base price of Rs 42 lakh for the E Class Saloon.
On the occasion, Mr Wilfried Aulbur, Mercedes Benz India MD said that the versatility of the E class model range is further reinforced with the launch of the Cabriolet and this latest offering is aimed at strengthening the company's position in the Indian luxury car market.
The E Class Cabriolet features an unique AIRCAP feature which in simple terms mean an automatic wind deflector that can be activated at a press of a button. This AIRCAP feature cuts through air and doesn’t let the wind come in the cabin even with the roof fully down.
The new Mercedes Benz E Class Cabriolet is powered by a 3.5 litre V6 engine that makes 272bhp @ 6000rpm. This engine also has very impressive torque figures of 355Nm between 2400 and 5000 rpm. This powerful engine is capable of hitting the 100kmph mark in just 6.9 seconds and take the Cabriolet to a top speed of 250kmph.
The E Class Cabriolet will directly compete with the BMW 6 series convertible in our market.
