The MG Astor is the newest entrant in the ever-growing and hugely competitive midsize SUV segment. It has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 9.78 lakh, going up to Rs 16.78 lakh (ex-showroom, India). However, these prices will only be valid for the first 5,000 bookings that will be delivered this year. Positioned below the Hector, the Astor is MG’s true rival to the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

MG Astor: variant details
The MG Astor is available in four different trims – Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. The base 1.5-litre petrol engine with a manual gearbox is available on all four trims, while the CVT automatic version has been skipped on the base Style trim. The 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, meanwhile, will only be offered on the top two trims.
What’s interesting to note is that the Astor’s Level 2 ADAS features, which is one of the biggest highlights of the SUV, are only available as an optional extra on the top-spec Sharp automatic variants. The Sharp trim with Level 2 ADAS package is also known as Savvy.
