MG ZS facelift India launch details

As mentioned earlier, the ZS tested by ASEAN NCAP was the Thai-made, petrol-powered example sold in the Vietnamese and Thai markets. Although it isn’t available in India yet, it has previously been spied testing on our roads.

The combustion engine variant of the ZS that is likely to make its way to India is the 1.0-litre, direct injection petrol powered model – the unit produces 111hp and 160Nm of torque, and is likely to be mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The ZS has a claimed top speed of 180kph and a 0-100kph time of 12.4s.

The combustion-engined ZS is expected to make its way to MG showrooms in India in the first half of this year and is likely to come with a mild facelift. Provided MG equips it well, and with an expected starting price of Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom), the ZS could have a good chance at finding favour with Indian car buyers.
