Renault has taken the wraps off the all-new Duster SUV that was showcased late last year badged as a Dacia. Its Renault-badged counterpart gets slight styling tweaks, as can be seen in these official pictures.

New Renault Duster: what’s different?

First up, the front grille has Renault lettering instead of a traditional logo, similar to the Dacia version. All Dacia logos have been replaced by Renault lettering across the SUV. Additionally, the interior also gets slight changes to its upholstery.

New Renault Duster: platform, dimensions, design

The new Renault Duster sits on the CMF-B platform and continues with a butch look. At 4.34 metres long, the new Renault Duster is a shade longer than the outgoing model, but it looks more aggressive. There will be a seven-seater version as well, similar to the Dacia Bigster concept, but this will come a little later. At 2,657mm, the Duster has a slightly shorter wheelbase than the outgoing model.

Like the Dacia, the Renault Duster gets the same, slim Y-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps, vertical air vents in the bumper with circular fog light units and a large lower grille area that takes the shape of a flattened bull bar. The 18-inch alloy wheels get a simpler design, with the rear also getting similar Y-shaped tail-lights and bumper design that's similar to the Dacia Duster.

The double layer dashboard is the same too, but the finishing and upholstery is unique to the Renault version. The centre console is angled slightly towards the driver, and higher variants will get two digital screens – a 7.0-inch one for driver information and a 10.1-inch touchscreen for infotainment duties. While the screen sizes are same for the Dacia and Renault Duster, the SUVs will get unique fonts and colour themes for the menus.

Features that are common between both Duster SUVs include wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, automatic climate control and an Arkamys 3D sound system with six speakers. The SUV also gets ADAS technology, which includes automatic emergency braking; vehicle, pedestrian, cyclist and motorcycle detection; traffic sign recognition with speeding alert; rear parking assistant; lane change warning and assist; and more.

New Renault Duster: powertrain details

While there is no news on the engine options expected on the Duster, one can expect the same three sets of engines on offer as the Dacia version, two of which are electrified. The 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol-hybrid two electric motors and comes with an automatic gearbox. It also gets a 1.2kWh battery, that allows for pure electric driving for up to 80 percent of city driving.

The next engine is the 130hp, 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol coupled with a 48V starter motor. While the Duster will also come with a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG option in some markets, there is no diesel option in any market for now.

New Renault Duster: off-road gear

The Duster gets terrain modes that include Auto, Snow, Mud/Sand, Off-road and Eco. The SUV has 217mm ground clearance, and has an approach angle of 31 degrees and a departure angle of 36 degrees.

New Renault Duster: India launch in late 2025
