Jaguar has recently revealed specifications of the new XF on their official India website. According to the site, the car has three trim levels; Pure, Prestige and Portfolio. The variants will be offered with an eight-speed automatic gearbox with the power being transferred to the rear wheels.
Under the hood, in all three trims, the XF gets the latest Ingenium series engine, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel unit that makes 180hp and 430Nm of torque. Jaguar claims the XF with the Ingenium engine can sprint from 0-100kph in 8.1 seconds. In the Prestige and ‘Portfolio’ trims, in addition to the Ingenium diesel engine, Jaguar will offer a 2.0-litre petrol engine, which produces 240hp and 340Nm of torque. The carmaker claims this car is much faster and can sprint from 0-100kph in seven seconds only.
Jaguar will also provide ‘Jaguar Drive Control’, which allows you to select between four driving modes namely, Standard, Eco, Dynamic or Rain/Ice/Snow mode. The modes alter the way the steering, throttle and the gearbox work.
The UK manufacturer will also provide a host of features in the XF. The Pure trim gets an eight-inch touch screen, 17-inch alloys, bi-functional xenon headlamps and the front seats can be adjusted electronically. In addition to the Pure trim features, Jaguar will provide perforated leather seats and a memory function for the driver seat and the steering wheel in the Prestige trim. The Portfolio trim gets 18-inch wheels and 14-way adjustable electric front seats among other features.
The second generation XF will go up against Volvo’s upcoming S90 and also its German rivals, the E-class, the 5-series and the A6, all of whom will also see a full model change in the coming year.
