Polaris, the company that specialises in making off-road and All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV), showcased its latest products – the Dagor (Deployable Advance Ground Off-Road) and MRZR 4 at the ongoing Defexpo 2016 in Goa. These vehicles were exclusively brought to India for the first time.

In addition, Polaris India also showcased its six-wheeled off-roader, Sportsman Big Boss 6X6 and Ranger 6X6 800 at the expo. Speaking on the company’s participation in the Defexpo India 2016, Pankaj Dubey, managing director, Polaris India said, “We are proud to showcase our impressive portfolio of defence vehicles designed to support the tactical manoeuvre of combat operations. Participating in the Defexpo 2016 is an invaluable experience for us as it gives us an opportunity to exhibit the unrelenting power of Polaris vehicles to the defence fraternity. Both Dagor and MRZR 4 are being displayed for the first time in India. Ergonomically designed with unbeatable combat efficiency, these vehicles are a force multiplier in the true sense of the word, providing its operator instant preparedness for missions even in the most extreme terrain.”

Polaris India has developed the Dagor vehicle under a contract from elements of the US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and international Special Operations Forces (SOF) customers. The vehicle has first-rate off-road capability in extreme terrain at full payload. Its design allows for ease of operation, maintenance and sustainment in support of combat operations. The vehicle uses a readily available Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) driveline, controls and components streamlining mechanic and operator training.

Further, the MRZR 4 is highly mobile, configurable for a variety of applications, air transportable and has been combat-proven and purchased by the US and allied forces. Both Dagor and MRZR 4 are already in use by SOCOM, SOF and Allied Special Forces.

Polaris’ Sportsman Big Boss 6x6 comes with a 6x6 drive system, powering all six of its wheels to help it handle tough terrains, while the Ranger 6X6 800 has a big-bore 800 twin-cylinder engine featuring EFI for consistent starting in any temperature, along with automatic adjustments for altitude.
