With its rugged SUV-like styling and segment-first features like a touchscreen, the Renault Kwid has been a strong seller for the French car maker in India. And now, five years after its introduction, the Renualt Kwid has just crossed the 350,000 unit sales milestone.

This entry-level hatchback which competes with the Maruti Alto is available with two three-cylinder petrol engine options - a 54hp 0.8-litre and a 68hp 1.0-litre, both come with a 5-speed manual transmission while the 1.0-litre gets an AMT (automated manual transmission) option as well. Renault has now replaced the RXT variant in its 1.0-litre range with a new, more affordable RXL variant, which will be available with a manual as well as an AMT option. The most prominent difference in terms of features between the now-discontinued RXT and new RXL is in terms of the touchscreen infotainment system and reversing camera.  The features have been give a miss on the RXL that makes do with a single-DIN Bluetooth audio system. Other features on the 1.0L RXL variant include split headlamps, LED tail lamp elements, roof spoiler, power steering, front power windows, remote central locking and internally adjustable mirrors, to name a few.

The Kwid is also offered in a more stylish Climber avatar, which now only gets a single variant top-spec (Climber O) variant with either a manual or AMT mated to the 1.0-litre petrol engine.

Renault has increased the Kwid’s pricing by Rs 2,000-7,000 across the range with this re-jig. This is the second price hike in 2020, the first one being in January 2020, on account of the BS6 emission upgrade which increased the price by Rs 9,000 across the range. The new prices are as follows:
