Force Motors has a number of commercial vehicles on sale in India, and the Trax is one such utility vehicle, targeted mostly at small towns and villages. It takes on the likes of the Tata Sumo and the formidable Mahindra Bolero, and has seen limited success in these rural markets.

The spacious Trax can currently be had with a number of seat combinations, going up to eleven. But now, an even longer version has been seen testing. This one comes with a total of seven doors. It will probably share engines with the standard Trax and the interiors are expected to be basic.

The Trax is currently sold in four avatars – Gama, Cruiser, Toofan and Ambulance. Power comes from a 60bhp 2.6-litre diesel engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Cruiser and the Toofan are slightly extended versions of the Gama. After the Gurkha, Trax Gama and the Trax Cruiser, this will be the fourth iteration of the same platform.

The larger Trax is understood to be undergoing homologation and is expected to launch within a few months.
