Skoda took the wraps off another unique project, the Roadiaq Camper, based on the Enyaq EV. The Roadiaq was conceived by students at the Skoda Vocational School, where a total of 29 students took about nine months to build it.

  1. Roadiaq is the ninth Skoda Student project globally
  2. It's the first EV-based student project from Skoda
  3. Indian batch recently showcased a Rapid Cabriolet

Skoda Roadiaq Camper: design, interior and features

Skoda donated an Enyaq 80x Sportline for this one-off project, which took nine months to complete. The Enyaq’s exterior got a Moon White and Emerald Green paint job, for starters, with 21-inch Supernova tyres. While Roadiaq retains the length and width of the regular Enyaq – 4,649mm and 1,879mm, respectively – the wheelbase has slightly increased to 2,770mm with an increased ground clearance of 190mm.

What is most distinctive about the Roadiaq is the unique-looking roof, thanks to which the height of the car has now gone up by over 350mm (2,050mm). To accommodate the extra headroom, students had to remove some parts of the original roof.

The Roadiaq's interior features a one-person bed, kitchen appliances, a variety of seats and tables, and mugs and glasses. Additionally, you can find a Bluetooth speaker, a solar-powered shower, an espresso maker, and even a survival kit for your adventures.

The camper turns into an office on wheels with its internet connection, built-in 27-inch screen with an integrated docking station and a wireless keyboard and mouse combo. On the rear-left side, you’ll find a camping socket that allows power to be supplied to the living area without drawing power from the vehicle’s traction battery.

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Student Car program

Internationally, this is the ninth Skoda Student Car Project. Earlier this year, a one-off Skoda Rapid Cabriolet was revealed as the first student project by Skoda Auto Volkswagen India. While there has only been one such batch of Indian students, the Academy’s India branch is taking steps to regularise the Student Car Program and include it as a project in the student syllabus. The programme will involve one cycle of projects every year, and the student selection criteria will reportedly be improved to make it more competitive.
