Following the launch of the Skoda Kushaq earlier last month, the company started deliveries of the mid-size SUV across India from July 12. The Kushaq is available with two engine options – 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI engines – and currently, in-line with our earlier report, Skoda is only delivering the 1.0-litre variants of the Kushaq. Deliveries for the 1.5-litre variants were set to commence at a later stage, which Skoda India Director, Zac Hollis, has now confirmed will commence from August 11, 2021, through his twitter handle.
- Skoda Kushaq 1.5 to be dispatched to dealers from August 11, 2021

- Has gathered more than 3,000 bookings so far
- Deliveries for Kushaq 1.0 commenced earlier this month
Skoda Kushaq 1.5 TSI: customer test-drives to begin next month
Responding to a query on Twitter, Hollis has confirmed that the 1.5-litre TSI variants of the Kushaq will be dispatched to dealers from August 11, 2021, following which it will also be available for test drives.
Deliveries to customers are expected to begin a few days later. Incidentally, deliveries for the 1.5-litre variants of the Kushaq were expected to commence later this month, but have now been pushed to at least mid-August.
Skoda to expand the Kushaq range
Hollis also took this opportunity to confirm that the company has lined up many more models and trims that will be launched throughout the lifecycle of the Kushaq.
Although Hollis did not reveal any specific details about these upcoming trims or a launch timeline, the company is expected to launch a new range-topping Monte Carlo trim at a later stage. Key feature additions on the Kushaq Monte Carlo will likely include a digital instrument panel, sporty seats, contrast stitching and an overall sporty look and feel to the cabin. The Monte Carlo edition could also be limited to the 1.5 TSI version.
Skoda Kushaq: most popular variant
Our dealer sources have confirmed that all versions of the Kushaq have received adequate interest, including the 1.5-litre TSI variants, test drives of which are yet to begin. According to them, 25 percent of orders are for the 1.5-litre variants and that number is expected to increase once the 1.5 TSI models are available for test drives at the showroom.
So far, the 1.0 TSI AT Ambition is proving to be the most popular variant, garnering around 40 percent of total 1.0 TSI orders. The ‘Carbon-Steel’ colour is the most preferred by buyers, followed by white and orange.
Skoda Kushaq: Price and rivals
