Tata Harrier EV spy shots: powertrain, specs, design

While the prototype is camouflaged, the latest spy shots (of its underbody) reveal its rear-mounted electric motor setup. The images further hint at the fact that the Harrier EV will also offer an all-wheel drive configuration with two electric motors – one on each axle. There’s no official word yet on the Harrier EV’s battery capacity or range, but we expect it to sport a 60kWh battery pack that delivers about 500km of range.

While the alloy wheel seems to be new, its styling cannot be ascertained yet as it's also camouflaged. Design changes over the ICE Harrier will include a closed-off grille, new front and rear bumpers, and the new alloys. Tata has confirmed that it will have vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capacities, and we expect it to get a flat floor too.

Tata Harrier EV: launch timeline, expected price

As reported earlier, the Harrier EV will be launched this financial year – before March 31, 2025. It will rival the upcoming Mahindra XUV700-based XUV.e8 e-SUV that's expected to go on sale later this year. Prices for the Tata Harrier EV could start from around the Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom) mark, which will make it the company's flagship EV offering upon arrival.

Tata Motors is currently working on launching the Curvv EV, which is all set to go on sale this festive season. The Curvv EV will compete with the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti eVX and the MG ZS EV.
