The auto industry currently is not at its peak in terms of sales and Toyota too has taken a hit from the slowdown. Now in an attempt to boost its sales numbers, Toyota dealerships across the country are offering significant discounts on select cars in its line-up. So, if you are planning to buy a new Toyota, here’s how much you can save this month.
Toyota Corolla Altis
Save up to Rs 1.75 lakh
In the executive sedan space, the Toyota Corolla Altis has been around for quite some time and it goes up against the likes of the Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia and Hyundai Elantra. Toyota has also updated the car from time to time to keep it competitive. The sedan gets a 140hp, 1.8-litre petrol and an 88hp, 1.4-litre diesel engine – both of which aren’t segment leaders and are just average in terms of performance. However, it’s the rear seat comfort that’s one of the major contributors to the buying decision. You can avail benefits of up to Rs 1,75,000 on the Corolla Altis.
Toyota Yaris
Save up to Rs 1.4 lakh
Toyota’s mid-size sedan hasn’t really seen as much success as its competitors, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and the Honda City. However, it does offer loads of safety kit and comes with the reliability associated with the Toyota brand. It gets one engine option – the 107hp, 1.5-litre petrol unit – mated to either a manual or a CVT gearbox. Dealerships are offering discounts on different variants of the Toyota Yaris with the maximum being for the mid-level variant 'G', and minimum for the top-end VX variant.
Toyota Fortuner
Save up to Rs 1.25 lakh
The Fortuner is one of the most capable SUVs from Toyota and rivals the Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4 and the Isuzu MU-X. Powering this big 7-seater SUV is a 177hp, 2.8-litre diesel and a 166hp, 2.7-litre petrol engine. It’s offered with automatic and manual transmission options along with the additional option of four-wheel drive. Maximum benefits of up to Rs 1,25,000 can be availed on the Toyota Fortuner with the exchange of an old Toyota vehicle.
Toyota Innova Crysta
Save up to Rs 60,000
Dealerships are offering benefits of up to Rs 60,000 on the popular MPV, the Innova Crysta. The MPV is priced much higher than its competitors like the Maruti Ertiga and the Mahindra Marazzo. However, it is still one of the highest-selling MPVs in the segment. Powering the Crysta are a 166hp, 2.7-litre petrol engine, a 150hp, 2.4-litre diesel motor and a 174hp, 2.8-litre diesel engine.
Toyota Etios
Save up to Rs 28,000
It may not be the first choice for a private buyer due to its 'taxi' image but the Toyota Etios does have a spacious cabin and a 592-litre boot. Engine options include a 90hp, 1.5-litre petrol and a 68hp, 1.4-litre diesel engine, both of which don’t do much for the driver. But if you want a car that’s spacious and provides good backseat comfort, the Etios might fulfill most of your needs. Benefits of up to Rs 28,000 are being offered on Toyota’s entry-level, mid-size sedan.
Toyota Glanza
Save up to Rs 25,000
The first car to come out of the Maruti and Toyota alliance has been doing well in the premium hatchback segment. The Toyota Glanza shares its powertrain with the Maruti Baleno. However, you can only have the Glanza in a petrol guise – with the standard 83hp, 1.2-litre K12M engine or Maruti's new 90hp, 1.2-litre K12N Dualjet motor that gets a bit of an e-boost from a mild-hybrid system. If you are planning to get a new hatchback, Toyota dealerships are offering benefits of up to Rs 25,000 on the Glanza.
