Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback: exterior and interior design

As is with other Audi Sportback models, the Q6 e-tron Sportback will have a rakish roofline. The front of the Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback will get an EV-rendition of Audi’s trademark ‘single-frame’ grille, slimline LED headlights and large vents. At the back sits a spoiler under the windshield that houses the third brake light.

On the inside, the Q6 e-tron Sportback is likely to take styling cues from the current Audi e-tron. It is said to get a dual-screen Audi MMI Navigation Plus infotainment suite, along with a digital instrument cluster. However, none of this information has been officially confirmed.

Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback: platform and powertrain

The Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback will share its platform with the upcoming Porsche Macan EV, which is an evolution of the J1 architecture found in the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT. The PPE architecture merges the elements of the aforementioned Porsche and Audi EV sedans with Volkswagen Group's MEB architecture. Audi says “what the car’s lines imply is translated into a standard of dynamic driving performance and everyday suitability befitting use for long drives.”

While the performance figures haven’t been officially revealed, Audi has hinted that the Q6 e-tron Sportback, like the A6 e-tron, will offer a combined output of 470hp and 800Nm of peak torque from its twin-motor, four-wheel drive powertrain.

The Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback will get a range of approximately 480km on a single charge, and will  support charging speeds of up to 350kW with its inbuilt 800V charging functionality.

Audi is also considering an RS version of the Q6 e-tron Sportback that may produce more than 500hp. It is said to get more aggressive styling, beefier brakes and a more dynamic chassis set-up. The hot version of the upcoming EV will rival the likes of the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT.

Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback: India launch

While the global launch is tipped for 2024, the Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback could make it to Indian shores soon after. Audi currently sells the e-tron, e-tron Sportback, e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT in India.
