Continuing the tradition of displaying outrageous cars at the Auto Expo, DC Design took the wraps off its latest, the Eleron SUV. The Eleron is an open-top four-seater and its design is characterised by long lines, curved edges and overlapping surfaces. At the front is a big aggressive grille and in profile, it looks quite like a Targa-top sportscar. The car on display wears 22-inch wheels with wide, 285-section tyres and braking duties are handled by ventilated disc brakes which work in tandem with ABS and ESP. On the inside, there are four individual leather seats and the cabin is covered in wood. The car is powered by a 265bhp 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine and is priced at Rs 35 lakh.
The other car on display was the Tia two-seat sportscar. The company says the car features a space-frame chassis and carbon composite bodywork and that its small footprint is great for urban commuting. The mid-engined car is powered by a 1.2-litre engine with 120bhp on tap and is priced at Rs 18 lakh.

The company said that it has invested Rs 50 crore each for the production of the two cars and is looking to invest further in the future and sell 500 units of the Eleron and 1,000 units of the Tia by 2016. DC also added that it has made an investment of Rs 85 crore for the production of the Avanti two-seater sportscar that was unveiled at the previous Auto Expo. The company is also looking at annual production capacity of 2,000 units from the third quarter of this year.
