Jeep Compass diesel engine and gearbox
The Jeep Compass with the automatic gearbox was previously limited to just the 4x4 variants. With this launch, Jeep aims to target customers looking for the convenience of an automatic gearbox, but not wanting the 4x4 hardware.
Powering the Compass is a 170hp, 350Nm, 2.0-litre diesel engine. Jeep currently offers only a diesel engine on the Compass range in India as it shelved the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine due to BS6 Stage II emissions norms. However, as we've reported before, the petrol variants are slated to make a comeback sometime in the near future.
