Jeep has launched the Compass Night Eagle in the Indian market for Rs 21.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Night Eagle features cosmetic changes in the form of a gloss black finish, grille and alloy wheels. The carmaker had previously launched the Night Edition of the Compass in 2020 on the pre-facelift version.
- Night Eagle edition is based on the Longitude variant of the Compass
- Powered by 1.4-litre turbo petrol and 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine options
- Also gets all-black interiors
Compass Night Edition: what's new?
The Night Eagle gets blackened grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, wing mirrors, roof rails and fog lamp bezels. On the inside, the SUV features black cloth seats with light tungsten stitching and black vinyl inserts for the door trim.
The Night Eagle is based on the well-equipped Longitude variant of the Compass, with features like a 10.1-inch touch screen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, automatic headlights, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among others.
Compass Night Edition: engine options
The Night Eagle gets two of the four powertrain options otherwise available on the model. This edition misses out on the manual gearbox for the 162hp, 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine and the 9-speed automatic gearbox on the 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine.
Jeep Compass price hike
Jeep has hiked the prices of the Compass by Rs 25,000 across the range. The SUV range now starts from Rs 18.04 lakh and goes up to Rs 30.97 lakh for the range-topping, recently introduced Trailhawk version. The carmaker also added that the Trailhawk variant commands a waiting period of four months.
Jeep is also gearing up to launch the Compass-based Meridian three-row SUV sometime in May.
Jeep Compass rivals
Given its wide price bracket, the Compass takes on the likes of the Tata Harrier, Hyundai Tucson, Volkswagen Tiguan and the Citroen C5 Aircross.
