Mercedes-Benz has showcased its AMG GT6 concept at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai, where it will be on display until May 2024. Viewers can interact with a video of the car via the QR Code. Mercedes had earlier showcased their Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 electric concept at the same venue, following an association with NMACC for curated luxury experiences. Another interesting concept Mercedes had recently showcased in India, albeit at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, was the 360-degree on-the-spot turning Mercedes EQG.

Mercedes-Benz AMG GT6 concept: what is it?
The concept first featured in the Gran Turismo 6 video game in 2013, and was then showcased at multiple motor events. The concept pays homage to the iconic 300 SL racing car, featuring a reinterpretation of its radiator grille with a central star. Unlike the traditional louvres, this modern grille is equipped with LEDs. Additionally, the AMG GT6 concept boasts of a front-hinged bonnet with an LED headlamp setup.
The low-slung body, gullwing doors and turbine-like chrome finished centre-locking wheels add to its aesthetics. The rear showcases a boat tail design with an integrated diffuser and a retractable spoiler. Additionally, a narrow LED strip runs horizontally at the rear and is positioned between the eight-exhaust tailpipe setup. Interestingly, this concept was Bruce Wayne’s (Batman) ride in the 2017 Justice League movie.
This 11-year old concept has also previewed a number of new AMG GT models from the new Mercedes-AMG GT to the SL 55. Under the hood, the AMG GT6 concept is powered by a 585hp, 800Nm V8 engine similar to the one seen in the AMG E 63 S.
