Mercedes Benz has launched the diesel engine-equipped version of the B-class.
After being available in petrol guise here since last year, the B-class now comes with a 2.2-litre 107bhp diesel motor and is called B180 CDI. Mercedes has launched the diesel avatar at Rs 22.6 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
This engine is mated to a seven-speed DCT gearbox with two drive options, Sport and Manual. The B-class diesel is shod with smaller 16-inch wheels as compared to the 17-inch ones which come with the petrol variant.
The B180 CDI is available in only one trim level called Style. Standard equipment includes a fully powered driver’s seat, leather upholstery, seven airbags, a COMAND interface with a variety of media connectivity options and a whole lot of safety tech. The B180 CDI, however, comes without the dual-sunroof which is standard equipment on the B180 petrol.
