Honda has introduced an updated version of the XR-V, which is a five-seat SUV based on the HR-V’s platform and is sold in some international markets like China.
Honda updated the HR-V SUV last year for global markets and also introduced a Sport variant with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Civic. The XR-V’s update gives it a fresh look, with very similar styling to the larger and more expensive CR-V SUV that is also sold in India. The new XR-V shares some styling bits with the HR-V too, like the alloy wheel design, new wing mirrors and some other cosmetic bits on the outside. At the back, the SUV gets tail-lamps that run across its width, just like on the CR-V. It also features a dual-tone bumper at the back.
Under the hood, the XR-V gets a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, as well as a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. However, there is no diesel engine on offer on this SUV.
Closer to home, Honda recently launched the Civic in India. The company is also working on an all-new Creta rivalling SUV, which will come in a little later.
