The new Mercedes C-Class has made its first public appearance in India at the CeBIT show in Bangalore ahead of its launch later this month.
It is also the first time that this international computer and IT expo is taking place in India. The CeBIT doubles up as a platform for Mercedes to showcase the extent to which IT is used in its product development, infotainment and connectivity applications. CeBIT offers this medium to show how IT has become the backbone of automobile engineering today, and its ever growing importance in the future.
The new C-Class will be launched in India on November 25. Based on Merc’s new lightweight modular rear-drive MRA (Mercedes Rear-drive Architecture) platform, the new C-Class gets both petrol and diesel engines. Upon launch though, it will only come with the petrol unit; the diesels following later.
