Autocar Professional has just published its seventh anniversary special edition. The B2B magazine has voted Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), as its ‘Man of the Year 2011’. This is the second time around for Goenka, who won the title back in 2006 for being the ‘architect of M&M’s global dreams’.

Hormazd Sorabjee, editor of Autocar India, said, "The smooth acquisition of SsangYong, the super-successful launch of the XUV500 and record sales of the Bolero, despite tough market conditions, are examples of the diverse achievements of Dr Goenka in the past year. They also illustrate his ability to deftly lead M&M on multiple fronts."

On being chosen as the Man of the Year 2011 by Autocar Professional, Pawan Goenka said, “It is an honour for me to have been chosen for this recognition by Autocar Professional for the second time. I dedicate this accolade to the organization for giving me a vast canvas to play with and to all my colleagues at Mahindra who have worked tirelessly, accepting no limits.”

Dr Goenka was chosen from a shortlist of personalities who influenced the auto industry, from OEMs, supplier companies and the government.
