Renault will launch facelifts for the Kiger SUV and the Triber MPV later this year, said Renault India MD and CEO Venkatram Mamillapalle. The market launch for the new Duster will take place next year. Renault has not had any major product launches for some time. Last year, the brand introduced special editions of its existing portfolio, including the Kiger, Triber and Kwid.

Renault Kiger, Triber to get substantial updates
As part of the mid-life update, the Kiger and Triber will get sharper styling, as seen on the newer Renault models overseas. Sources tell us that the Kiger will get a substantial design update that will be a departure from the current model’s Kwid-like looks.
Renault could also introduce its new logo, which has not yet been introduced in any of its products in India. On the inside, expect mild tweaks to the dashboard, with lighter shades and more soft-touch materials, similar to the refreshed Nissan Magnite SUV that went on sale a few months ago. The changes expected on both models will be cosmetic, so the Kiger will continue with the 1.0-litre NA and the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engines, while the Triber will have the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit.
The Triber was launched in our market in 2019, and the Kiger in 2021. These India-focused models from Renault, being sub-four-metre in length, were launched with aggressive pricing and a competitive feature list. Since launching the Triber and Kiger, Renault has intermittently updated them with multiple special editions to keep things afresh. However, their monthly sales have been dismal in the last year, with the Kiger mostly clocking under a thousand units on average in 2024 and the Triber doing slightly better at around 1,500 units. Besides catering to the Indian market, Renault exports models such as the Kwid, Triber, and Kiger to 14 countries.
New Duster India launch confirmed for 2026
Renault India has also confirmed that an “all-new SUV” will launch in 2026. This SUV will be none other than the third-gen Duster, which debuted globally last year. Renault sold the first-gen Duster in India from 2012 to 2022. The second-gen Duster never made it to India, and the third-gen SUV will mark the return of the popular Duster moniker in India after a four-year gap.
While the standard Duster will go on sale in 2026, the SUV will have four iterations, with a three-row Bigster joining in a little later. Additionally, the Duster and the Bigster will have Nissan derivatives with their unique identities. All four SUVs will be built at the Renault-Nissan plant in Chennai to be sold in India and exported to multiple markets.
We can confirm that production of the new Duster in India will start by September, so the company will announce the prices for it sometime in early next year.
