Renault Kiger, Triber, Kwid get 3 year/1 lakh km warranty as standard

    Standard warranty has increased from 2 years/40,000km; all three Renault models now also get extended warranty packages of up to 7 years.

    Renault India has announced that its entire product line-up in India – the Kiger SUV, the Triber MPV and the Kwid hatchback – now get a standard 3-year/1 lakh kilometre warranty. The new warranty comes into effect on Renault vehicles purchased on and after January 1, 2025. According to the French brand, the warranty includes all mechanical and electrical failures or defects related to material, workmanship, or manufacturing faults.

    Renault India extended warranty program updated

    Apart from introducing a longer standard factory warranty on its three products (up from the 2-year/40,000km), Renault India has also introduced more affordable extended warranty packages that can be purchased at the dealer level. This also includes complimentary road side assistance.   

    These extended warranty packages start at 4 years/1 lakh km (whichever is earlier) and go up to 7 years/unlimited kilometres. Prices for these packages vary depending on the model; the 4-year pack for the Kwid starts at Rs 5,142, while the same for the Kiger and Triber start at Rs 6,605 and Rs 8,164, respectively. Depending on the one selected, some new warranty packages are also valid for a greater number of kilometres than earlier (eg. 4 years/80,000km is now 4 years 1 lakh km).  

    Apart from Renault, other mass market brands like Maruti, Honda, Hyundai and Tata Motors also offer a three-year factory warranty, along with multiple packages for extended warranties on their respective cars and SUVs. Honda recently announced a 7-year/unlimited km warranty package, and Maruti also upgraded their standard warranty package to 3 years/1 lakh km.
