The Tata Curvv will be equipped with a new 125hp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine and get manual and automatic gearbox options. Also on offer will be the Nexon’s 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel unit. The Curvv EV, expected to have a 450-500km range, will use Tata’s Gen 2 acti.ev architecture, the specs for which are not yet known.

    Tata Curvv expected price, rivals

Prices for the Curvv EV will likely be revealed on August 7 and are expected to start at around Rs 20 lakh. In Tata’s electric portfolio, the SUV-coupe will be positioned above the Nexon EV and below the upcoming Harrier EV. The ICE version will be launched sometime after the EV and could cost around Rs 10 lakh-11 lakh.

The Curvv EV will rival the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti eVX and even the MG ZS EV. Its ICE version will compete with midsize SUVs such as the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, and Hyundai Creta.
