Tata Motors has silently updated the Harrier and Safari line-up with two new colour options, and an expanded Autonomous Driving Assistance System (ADAS), which now includes lane-keep assist and lane-centering assist. The brand says the updated ADAS suite will be available on the Adventure + A, Fearless +, and Accomplished + variants, while owners of the Harrier and Safari facelifts can contact their nearest dealership to get the update at no extra cost.

    1. Select Tata Harrier, Safari trims now get more colour options
    2. No other changes to Harrier and Safari

While the overall number of exterior finishes available on the Harrier and Safari is unchanged at seven each, some colours that were reserved for higher trims are now available on lower ones, and vice versa.

    Tata Harrier new colour options

On the Harrier, the Ash Grey finish was available on the lower Smart and Pure trims and is now also available on the higher Adventure and Fearless trims. The Seaweed Green was only available in the Adventure but now it also comes on the top-spec Fearless. Meanwhile, the Pebble Grey and Coral Red colours, which were available on the two higher trims, are now on offer with the lower Smart and Pure as well.

The Lunar White finish is available on all four Harrier trims, while the Sunlit Yellow is only on offer with the top-spec Fearless. It should also be noted that the Harrier Dark Edition, with its distinctive Oberon Black finish, is available with the three higher trims.

    Tata Safari new colour options

It’s a similar story with the Safari. The Stardust Ash and Galactic Sapphire colours are now also available on the lower Smart and Pure trims, while the Lunar Slate finish now comes on the higher Adventure and Accomplished trims too. Finally, the Supernova Copper colour, which was available only on the higher Adventure trim, is now on offer with the range-topping Accomplished as well.

All four trims of the Safari get the Stellar Frost colour option, while only the top-spec gets the Cosmic Gold finish. Like with the Harrier, the Safari Dark Edition is available in the higher three variants.

Neither model sees any other changes. Both continue to be powered by the same 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine, which comes with manual and automatic gearbox options. The Harrier is currently priced between Rs 14.99 lakh and Rs 25.89 lakh, while the Safari costs Rs 15.49 lakh-26.79 lakh. Tata’s flagship SUVs continue to rival the Mahindra XUV700 and MG Hector in the Indian market.
