    • MG Hector to get 14-inch touchscreen
    • Will get exterior styling tweaks
    • Will get a revised dashboard

Updated MG Hector: interior and exterior

The Hector has been on sale since 2019, and this will be its second facelift since launch. This time around, however, MG Motor India is also focusing on the SUV's interior. The image released shows a completely revised dashboard that now features a double-layered design with horizontally positioned D-shaped AC vents. There is a generous dose of piano black and faux brushed aluminum bits along with ambient lighting, and new textures and colours for the seats, depending on the variant.

The Hector has always been at the top of its game as far as infotainment screens go – the current Hector has a 10.4 inch portrait style unit. The updated SUV will take it to the next level with a new 14-inch HD touchscreen set-up. This system has been branded as the Next-gen i-Smart technology by MG, and will feature wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto among other new features. Additionally, the refreshed Hector will also get new graphics for its 7-inch digital instrument cluster.

Apart from the interior upgrades, the Hector will also get a revised front end with a large diamond mesh grille, new front bumper and slightly repositioned headlamps. There won't be any change to the alloy wheel design, and the rear styling is also not expected to get major tweaks.

    Updated MG Hector: ADAS, powertrain

As far as safety goes, the refreshed Hector is expected to get Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which includes active safety features like lane keep assist, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning and lane departure warning.

There are no changes expected to the refreshed Hector’s powertrain, and the SUV will continue with two 143hp, 1.5-litre petrol engines – one with mild-hybrid technology – and a 170hp, 2.0-litre, turbo-diesel unit.

    Updated MG Hector: rivals

As mentioned above, the Hector has been around since 2019, and competes with the Harrier, Creta, Seltos and the Mahindra XUV700, to some extent. MG Motor India will expect the upcoming refresh on the Hector to keep sales chugging along for the SUV until an all-new model arrives in the future.
