Maserati Grecale
The Maserati Grecale is the brand's smaller SUV, positioned below the full-size Maserati Levante. It is available with a choice of turbocharged petrol engines - a 2.0-litre, four cylinder and a 3.0-litre V6. As with all Maseratis, it offers a wide array of customisation potential, and it is priced at a premium. Rivals for the Maserati Grecale include the Mercedes AMG GLC 43 Coupe and the Porsche Macan GTS.

The Grecale is Maserati’s answer to the Porsche Macan. The Maserati is up there with the Porsche in handling and that’s a great starting feat to start with. The Grecale also charms you with Italian flair outside and in. The interior blends old world craftsmanship with new-age tech and there’s a warmth to the cabin that you’ll readily take to. Space all around is good but the Grecale is not an ideal buy for chauffeur-driven buyers - the rear backrest is a touch upright.
Engine options include a pair of strong 2-litre turbo-petrols but for the full effect you should consider the top tier Grecale Trofeo that gets a 3-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine.
Thing is, the Grecale is not the largest SUV by size or engine capacity for the money Maserati wants for one, and that’s sure to be a sticky point even among high end SUV buyers.
