    2. Will be seen on all BNCAP crash test-rated cars
    3. So far, only Tata Motors’ SUVs have been tested by BNCAP

BNCAP safety rating stickers: what are they?

According to the government’s crash testing body, these stickers will help ensure that vehicle buyers are informed about the safety rating as tested by BNCAP.

Each sticker will have a fixed format, including the manufacturer’s name, the vehicle name, the date of testing, and star ratings for both adult and child protection. The sticker will also have a QR code that, when scanned, will reveal comprehensive details of the crash test for that particular vehicle.

BNCAP crash test ratings for India: the current list

Since the introduction of BNCAP in October 2023, only a few SUVs from Tata Motors have undergone BNCAP crash tests. These include the Harrier, Safari, Nexon EV, and Punch EV.

All of these models have been awarded 5-star ratings by Bharat NCAP for both adult and child occupant safety. There have been rumours that SUVs from Maruti and Hyundai have undergone BNCAP testing, although their results have not been made public yet.
