Indian Oil Storm-X fuel launched for race cars

    The new fuel will be used by cars competing in the MMSC MRF Indian National Car Racing Championship.

    Indian Oil has launched a new high-octane fuel, called Storm-X that's specially tailored for race cars. The new fuel was introduced at Round 3 of the MRF Indian National Car Racing Championship at the Madras International Circuit, where the company also announced a strategic partnership agreement with the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC).

    This isn’t the first time that Indian Oil has launched a motorsport-specific fuel. Earlier this year, the energy major was announced as the official fuel supplier for the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship till 2026. The company is also eyeing an F1 fuel supply deal in the future.

    The new Storm-X fuel has been specially formulated to meet the rigorous demands of race cars, while also adhering to the strict regulations set by the FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile). Indian Oil says this fuel is made using sustainable components – in line with its F1 goals, given the championship will move to 100 percent sustainable fuels in 2026.

    “Indian Oil has a rich history of supporting motorsports, evidenced by its role as the title sponsor of the MotoGP Bharat 2023 and its partnership with FIM for the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) from 2024 to 2026. Indian Oil’s dedication to fostering excellence and innovation in motorsports is unwavering, and today's launch of Storm-X reinforces this commitment,” said V Satish Kumar, director (Marketing), Indian Oil.

    Indian Oil signs new deal with MMSC

    As per its new agreement with the MMSC, Indian Oil will supply race fuels and lubricants, and provide venue and vehicle branding for the Indian National Racing Championships.

    “We are thrilled to collaborate with Indian Oil, a leader in the energy sector, to enhance the quality and competitiveness of motorsports in India,” said Ajit Thomas, president, MMSC.
