Hyundai Creta Electric real world range

Is the Creta EV worth replacing my 2009 Maruti Dzire VDi with? Should I buy the Long Range or Standard Range? What range can I expect?

    Siddharth, Nashik

Autocar India says: The Creta EV is a brilliantly packaged, well-rounded EV. We've experienced the Long Range (LR) version with a claimed range of 473km, and we can confirm that its performance is more than adequate to keep you entertained. Impressively, in our preliminary range test, the Long Range (LR) version delivered a real-world range of 426km on a single charge, in a mixed (city + highway) cycle. That, coupled with reasonably quick charging times, makes it a rather capable tourer. Also interesting is that the Long Range version accounts for three-fourth of total Creta EV bookings.

But if you're on a tight budget, and your running is primarily within the city, you could consider the Standard Range (SR). Spec to spec, SR is Rs 2 lakh cheaper than the LR - which gets a 135hp motor (vs LR's 171hp) and a smaller 42kWh battery (vs LR's 51.4kWh). The SR version's claimed range is 390km, and even though we haven't tested it yet, our estimate is that real-world range could be between 320-350km.
